What is the BEST ITALIAN dessert?

No question has ever been easier.

It's tiramisu'. It means something like cheers me up and it's surprisingly delicious and easy to prepare. And it cheers you up.

It's made of eggs, mascarpone (an Italian cheese looking like cream cheese but tasting very differently), sugar, cocoa and biscuits (precisely savoiardi) rinsed in espresso.
The reason for the name - cheers me up - is due to the fact that cheese gives a lot of energy (and some fats actually), together with eggs' proteins and coffee's caffeine make a great mix.

The preparation is as easy as it can be, and I mean it. You just need to separate the whites from the reds of the eggs, mix for 5 minutes the whites until they resemble really firm snow. Then mix the sugar with reds and mascarpone and mix it again with the elettric mixer until it gets really creamy and soft. Finally mix the whites and the reds, mixing really slowly - no electric mixer - to make it become uniform. Finally pour the cream obtained on a base of savoiardi wet of espresso. See? It's done!! A couple of lines and not more than 25 minutes of work.

Last note, it might be worthy to start a business on tiramisu' in New York since so far all the tiramisu's I've tried have sort of disappointed me. For sure they're worse than my version... If you're an entrepreneur, please consider it.

Cheers,
Guido.
